"Brunswick Stew: Pride of Brunswick County"

Special Edition film- 1 hour 17 min- $29.95

(When ordered through this web site)

This abbreviated edition of the original documentary was cut down to a length that is viewable in a shorter sitting.  It leaves out information that the archival and original version contains in order to shorten the viewing time. (Fewer commentators; no visit to Georgia; self contained story of the Virginia version of Brunswick stew.)

"Brunswick Stew: A Virginia Treasure-PBS Edition"

Film- 56 min. 40 sec-Broadcast over Virginia PBS stations- $29.95

(When ordered through this web site)

This edition is the version specially edited for broadcast on PBS.  It contains fewer stewmasters and leaves out the details that validate Brunswick County's claim as the Original Home of Brunswick Stew.  The program has a more historic flavor mixed with representation of the folk life and tradition that supports this nearly 200 year old indigenous American foodway through a system of Stewmasters and stew crews who cook in huge black iron kettles nearly every weekend.

"Lord Have Mercy: Olgers' Store"

36 min. film - $29.95

This hilarious documentary is the result of film maker Stan Woodward's spontaneous drop-in on the colorful Jimmy Olgers-raconteur, humorist, poet and junk dealer, as well as museum curator.  Olgers is one of Virginia's great old-time black kettle cooks, maintaining the stew traditions of the era of black pot cooking.
